Chiropractic

A chiropractor is a licensed Doctor who has been trained to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions.  The prefix “chiro-“ originates from the Greek word “cheiro-“ which means “pertaining to the hands”. A chiropractor uses his or her hands to examine, correct, and prevent neuromusculoskeletal health issues, and is an expert in finding the root of the problem, which may not be immediately obvious. Chiropractors focus on the spinal column, because it's the connection between the brain and the rest of the body, through the nervous system. Proper biomechanics of the spine results in optimal nervous system function.

Chiropractors have been required to take a minimum of seven years of university level training and are required to pass both National and Provincial Board Exams in order to practice in BC as a member of the BC Chiropractic Association and the College of Chiropractors of BC.
